What is Mythos?

Welcome to the world of Mythos, a new take on the beloved card collection game genre. We strive to create a competitive, fun, and visually appealing game where two players will face off in a head to head battle. Mythos is strategic card game where you go head to head against one other opponent, utilizing a 5 row by 2 column field, players take turns placing a mix of creature, spell, and artifact cards.

Over 1,000 years ago, a convergence ripped pieces from every pantheon, time and location known to man. These pieces were connected into one plane to create a planet of pure chaos. Those trapped on this planet have been forced to come to terms that their gods will be unable to save them. While the world at large is a case of alliances forged from kinship or convenience, we will be focusing on a mountain range on the equator. A long since formed city of noble creatures at war with a dark force soon come to realize that everyone nearby is under threat of a new foe. Monsters, monsters of every form and size besiege the mountain pass. Now the tribes of mythical creatures, the dark powers of undead, and the long standing civilization will need to come to terms that temporary bonds must be forged in the heat of battle to keep extinction at bay.

Factions

The Hunger

An oligarchy led by those who have shown promise in finding prey, though a sharp tongue can help.

Guiding Light

Led by the person with the strongest “glow” (sense of justice/nobility). Multiple different groups within that report to them, and perform missions such as keeping peace between the different factions, monster excursions, rooting out corruption that they hear of, and hunting down criminals.

The Beasts

Left out of the other factions were powerful monsters that scattered the lands wherever they pleased. Although these creatures lack organization, they make it up in their strength.

The Hunted

The faction is spread across the world separated into tribes. While tensions can change, there is rarely a way between tribes due to the abundance of bigger fish to fry.

Unaligned

Like Monster Mash, these creatures were left out of the other factions, so they decided to form an alliance with each other. Although these creatures rarely interact with each other, they come together in times of need.
